Ski & Ride Guide

  • Role: Lead Writer

  • Backcountry.com is a billion-dollar, online, outdoor retailer. I’ve worked with Backcountry for over 3 years, this is just one of hundreds of projects.

The Long:

Winter is Backcountry’s biggest season, both in sales and spirit. The Ski & Ride Guide (formerly known as the Winter Gear Guide) highlights the best skis, snowboards, boots, bindings, and snow apparel of the year. This is a massive, annual campaign that touches every channel—from email and social to influencer programs.

Landing Page:

The Ski & Ride Guide’s landing page featured our top categories—and best sellers—in winter sports. Here’s a fun collage of some of my favorite bits of copy. See the whole experience here.

Email:

Backcountry customers anticipate our winter buyer’s guide all year long, and email is where we showed the best from the rest. Here are some of my favorites.

Social:

Backcountry’s customers know snow and lingo meaning knowledge of the sport is a must when communicating to their audience. I marry my personal experience with advice from fellow writers in passions I don’t follow to form a message worth listening to.

Enjoy the Winter Guide? You’ll love the summer version.

You’re here anyway, might as well take a look.
